Carbide EDM block is mainly used in punches, dies, inserts, buttons, etc. of metalforming and stamping dies.
The most widely used are progressive stamping die parts.
It is also used in the manufacture of cutting tools, forming tools, powder metallurgy molds, wear-resistant parts, and more.

The manufacturing process of cemented carbide is complicated. Production process: raw material mixing – pressing – sintering – stress relief – grinding and so on.

In order to shorten the manufacturing cycle of stamping dies, electric discharge machining carbide blocks can be used to quickly manufacture the parts required by stamping dies. This increases efficiency while ensuring that the stamped die parts are machined with high precision.

Carbide EDM block has many grades according to the metal material and material thickness to be stamped. They need to have good corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance. Because electric discharge machining will cause corrosion, high-speed stamping will have impact, and millions of stampings require good wear resistance (The cutting edge is ground once, which can punch 1.5-2 million, with a total of 150-200 million).
